- What do you need done? (i.e. brochure, logo, artwork, retouching, etc.)
- What do you have so far? (Nothing at all is a totally valid answer, but in most cases you probably have something. An idea, some wording, a sample image or two of what you want, maybe an existing logo or brand colours.)
- Do you have a budget in mind? (Nobody wants to waste time, if you have a strict budget let me know and I’ll give you an idea of exactly what I can offer at that price point, and even steer you towards changes that might save you a little money.)
- Do you have any special needs? (A good example here people forget about is that if you happen to know where you are going to be doing your printing, I can tailor my work to their specific requirements. You don’t necessarily need to know what the requirements are, just where you’re getting it done. I can figure out the rest for you.)
If you aren’t quite sure what you want done or how much, don’t worry. I’m available for more general consults even if your answers to all of the above are “TBD.”
Now, as promised the next step in the experience is a phone call — Yes, that’s right. You get to talk to a real live person, with your voice. I am fine with email correspondence if you prefer that, but I am a firm believer that a short phone call can save you about twelve emails. We’ll have a quick chat, and I can help you work out what you need and establish a price point.
After that — Once you decide you’re on board, I take a fifty percent deposit for the total cost before I begin the work, with the remainder due after your preview copies are provided, and before any high resolution files are provided. I offer one reasonable revision request on any work done, with more available at an extra cost depending on the level of work required.
